Calling All Kinder Friends . . . You're Gonna Want to Check This Out!
9:43 PM
How would you like to win a free pass to the 'I Teach K!' conference in Las Vegas this July?
Oh, and it gets even better than that! You will also win a certificate to take a friend along with you! No one wants to go to Vegas alone!
There are going to be some phenomenal speakers at this conference, too! You may be familiar with some of these names . . . {Check this out}!
Do you see anyone you know on here? {Debbie Clement} and {Deanna Jump}? Well . . . It gets better than that! {Kathleen Pedersen}, {Deedee Wills}, and{Kim Adsit} are also presenting! Wow, right? Oh, and {Ron Clark} too!!
I'm just a small fish, but I have the opportunity of presenting at an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, little workshop. I know what you are thinking . . . why is SHE presenting at a kindergarten conference?
Did you know that my very first job was in kindergarten? I taught the little guys for 8 years back in the 'morning/afternoon' class days. I want to share some of my ideas with you . . . and I think they are sorta cool. As a matter of fact, I still use many of these ideas in my 2nd grade classroom. Organization of stations is never an easy task, but I finally think I have it down to a science! (Yeah, and now I'm heading into retirement!)
Here's my little presentation description.
I'm a wee bit nervous, but I'm hoping I'll have the privilege of meeting lots of YOU!
If you love Las Vegas and would love to attend an amazing conference, just enter on the Rafflecopter! Oh, and remember ~
if you win, you take a friend!
Oh, and I almost forgot . . . Congrats to Kim M.!
She won a new pencil sharpener!
Woo hoo Kim!

Hi!! I would love to win this! I would love to go to Vegas for one, but I would love to see all of the presenters, including you! It would be like a dream come true! We haven't had any paid professional days for years (no class budget either!)This would be like a cake with lots of buttercream icing and jimmies sprinkled on top! Can't get better than that!! Here's hoping! Amy :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win a trip to this conference becuase I have not been able to attend any conferences for many years, thanks to budget cuts. There are so many great people to learn from, and I would love to meet you!
ReplyDeletekjreardon@ymail.com

Need stuff, I am a college student online, I have a chance to design a kindergarten classroom, with an unlimited budget can you give me your expert ideas?
DeleteWhat a great giveaway!!!!Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWow! This would be a perfect trip for me! I have always wanted to go! My students would benefit so much from this and I know I would learn so much!! Thanks for offering the chance to win!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, this would be a great opportunity to win! My district has no funding for professional development, so I haven't been to any that I haven't paid for out of my own pocket in years! I REALLY REALLY wanted to go to I Teach K this year, but with a baby on the way, I just couldn't pay for it all myself. However, if I won the registration, then I could go with no worries/guilt! I teach in a high poverty school and I know that all the ideas that I would get at I Teach K would really improve my teaching and their learning! I am crossing all my fingers and toes!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer @ Herding Kats in Kindergarten
I would love to have the opportunity to go to the national K conference with a co-worker! Our district is not paying for any conferences and I would love to learn some new tricks!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this because I teach at a private Kindergarten that does not have the funding to send us to professional development. All the professional development I go to is paid out of pocket. Plus it looks super awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love love love to win this! I can't imagine all the great ideas and learning that will take place! Thank you for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI get sooo excited when I read about the ITK Conference!! And then, I remember that my school doesn't have the money to send me to something this amazing! I would learn so much and bring it back to my classroom, where I could grow to be an even better teacher for my kiddos! :) What an AMAZING GIVEAWAY! Thank you for the chance!! :)

Peace, Love, and First Grade
I would LOVE to win this trip. I love meeting and learning new things about Kindergarten and to have the opportunity to be around such great people would be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to ITK because I was brought back to Kindergarten this year by my Principal. I have missed Kinder due to being caught in a Looping situation that once ended, you were stuck where you were at that moment. I have always been a Kindergarten teaching in my heart and soul, and I missed it (I was traditional K from 2000-2006, and then I started Looping K-1, and from 2009 - 2012 I was traditional 1st). This would give me (as well as my friend who was brought down from 2nd) a chance to get on an "even playing field" with the other 15 Kinder teachers in our school. It would present me with the opportunity to be with like minded individuals who know the challenges of teaching K and who want to present as much help in educating our babies as possible. As a mother of 5, going anywhere is also not something that I can generally do, so if I were to win this, it would be a trip of a lifetime for me!!! Thank you guys for all that you do! No matter who wins this giveaway, you all are AWESOME for giving the chance and opportunity to attend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I was just talking with my coworkers about how we wished we could go :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic workshop opportunity. I feel like you can never learn enough :) My co workers and I have been talking about this workshop and how we wished we could go. It would be a dream come true to go to Vegas and meet so many wonderful educators. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this! As a second year teacher I feel like there is so much to learn and see. I feel like my kiddos and I would benefit so much from this opportunity to network and see how others are adopting the common core! Thank you for hosting this!!
ReplyDeleteCourtney
I have wanted to go to the I teach K! conference in Vegas for years!!! I would love the opportunity to learn more about the best grade level in the world! My kinders would reap the most benefits because of all the new things I could use in my classroom. This is an AmAzInG giveaway!

Polka Dot Kinders
I just moved back down to kindergarten after over twenty years of teaching other grades. I would love to get all kinds of great ideas to use in my classroom!
ReplyDeleteI have only taught Kindergarten one year. All my other years teaching have been in 1st grade. When I first went to Kindergarten, I was amazed at the different. I would like to go to the conference to learn where to start the year with my class.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this! I teach special ed kindergarten, and I think that attending would help me in so many ways, and give me so many new ideas!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
My mom and I both teach kindergarten and have always wanted to go to I Teach K!, but with all the travel expenses and conference fees we have never been able to do it. If I won I would take my mom with me and we would definitely be excited to bring such wonderful new ideas back to our classrooms. We both teach all day kindergarten, which is new in our district and I'm sure the sessions at I Teach K! would help us grow this new district kindergarten program! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I would love to go to see all of the great presenters listed:) Oh my gosh all of those people in one place at the same time. We don't get to do much in our little town as far as professional development so this would be a wonderful opportunity! I have been to a K conf. in the state of Nebraska, but this would be way more wow!
ReplyDeleteHilary,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great, but I don't teach kindergarten anymore! Good luck! I know that you'll rock! I've learned a ton just stalking your blog, you'll be "Out of this World!" in person!

Crayons and Curls
I'd love to win this!!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome that you are offering this! I've always wanted to go to the National Kindergarten Conference and my principal supports me going, but we don't have any Staff Development money due to budget cuts. Winning this would allow me (and my friend) the opportunity to go to the conference!
ReplyDeleteI just sent an email to my principal asking if we had money for this. She laughed. I have only taught kinder for 2 years and I love reading all the blogs to get ideas. I know going to the conference would be very beneficial to my students. They are capable of so much. I just want to give them every opportunity possible.
ReplyDeleteI teach 1st, but my heart is in kinder!! I left it there! :( I miss it dearly! I would LOVE to win this!!! My new district lacks in professional development so much. I just wrote a grant to our PTA asking them to pay for professional development I would like to attend. I would LOVE to attend this!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great opportunity. I haven't had professional development classes in Kindergarten in soooo long. I know this would help our kindergartners so much. Thanks for the opportunity!

ReplyDeleteI live in Vegas, This is my first year teaching K... I teach 2 half day sessions. Yes there are still some K teachers that teach half day. I have 31 kids in my am class and 27 in my pm class....I could use as many resources and training as I could get, but really can't afford to pay for this on my own. And of course with budget cuts there is no money in our school budget to go either.

My team and I were just talking about the K conference... we keep trying to get our principal to figure out a way to pay for all of us to go. But it hasn't happened yet. I would so love to attend the conference, just to soak up all the great knowledge and "gurus" that will be there.

ReplyDeleteMy teaching partner and I have been trying to figure out a way to go to the conference (aka - convince our husbands that we should go to Vegas for several days while they stay home with the kids!). If we win tickets....we HAVE to go, right?!? Seriously though, what a GREAT event. Fantastic presenters, amazing topics, and inspiring people to collaborate with at my grade level. Sounds amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteThis workshop would be an amazing opportunity for me to improve everything that I do with teaching kindergarten! This is my first year as a kindergarten teacher and second year as a teacher. I still have a lot to learn! Creating independence in centers is something which I wanted to focus on improving this summer. This will help me to help my future students even more and help me with Masters in Early Childhood Unified Birth to Age 8 which I am starting this summer. Thank you for creating this opportunity for a lucky teacher! Some teachers like myself would not be able to go without this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get my principal to send me to this but this would be so much easier!! OMG!! I want to win so bad! For me it will mean gaining so much more knowledge to help me become an even better K teacher! And to hang out with others who teach K will be truly uplifting! I will be able to bring back this knowledge to the other 7 K teachers at our school.
ReplyDeleteMy other 2 Kindergarten teachers have drooled over the I Teach K brochure the past few years. This would be the best part of summer 2013 if I was chosen to go. I've never been to Vegas and would love the opportunity to enrichment my K classroom by attending this AWESOME conference!!!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to this!!! I teach Pre-Kindergarten and my best friend teaches Kindergarten in the same school as me. We are both always looking for new tips and ideas to use with our little ones and we both have daughters (me 1 and she has twins) that all will start Kindergarten themselves this fall! She is a single parent of three children and I would love to able to win this so not only I could go, but to take her as my free friend who shares my passion for teaching young children!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this amazing experience!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...What I am hoping is that it will help me become a better teacher in regards to reading. I feel very confident with math, writing and other subjects but I don't feel I am doing the BEST I can with reading. I love reading K blogs and have learned so much but I want to sharpen my reading skills. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI guess it will be good event and everyone who would go there will be satisfied
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Lanta. I would DIE to win this. Time in Vegas {where I've never been} with my BFF {who is also a teacher} would do wonders for my teacher sanity...which we all know is a major factor in our student success. I will be on maternity leave next year for a few weeks but having so many fun & new ideas to try from the conference will help me leave my little girl at home and get back to my classroom with excitement instead of dread!

An Open Door
Whoops! In my excitement, I didn't follow the directions. Umm, a little typical! Okay, after a million years teaching grades 1-8, I started teaching a K/1 combination class. Kindergarten won my heart!!! I have requested a transfer to kinder next year. However, I have never, ever taught a straight kinder class. Where to begin??? How to manage 26 kinder students at once? How to create a schedule? My questions go on and on and on. This conference would give me the information I need to begin teaching kinder in August. A teacher who knows what she is doing would benefit the children. I look forward to being with joyful kinder teachers who are passionate about teaching and doing what is best for children. OMG! Being in the same setting with all of those amazing teachers would be so incredible!

I would learn so much about the CCSS that I could bring back to our school not only to help my grade level but hopefully to also help other lower elementary teachers! ReplyDeleteWould love to be a winner! All the ideas and tips learned will help me a better teacher!
ReplyDeleteBeing a first year teacher, I need all the tips and techniques that I can get to get my kindergarteners to learn. I've been wanting to go to this conference so bad as soon as I heard about it! I would love to hear all the wonderful speakers and be able to pick up all their pointers! This would help me to be a better teacher especially since a lot of my kindergarteners come to me speaking little to no English at all! Thank you for the opportunity!!! Jennastanleyballo@gmail.com
