Good Birthday Gifts and Goodies for Great Kids!

I was just going through my pictures and ran across this one. I wanted to share this with you in August . . . whoops!

Anyway, every year I gather together Dollar Tree and Clearance Goodies to make good birthday gifts for my kiddos. I'm sure lots of teachers give goody bags at birthday time, but one thing I do to take the pressure off during the school year is pre-bag the bags. That way, at birthday time, all I have to do is grab a bag and put it on the desk. I also found a cute star centerpiece that I set out to make the day special. The kids love seeing the bouncy stars right when they walk in the room.

Sorry I waited to share this in the middle of the school year! I guess it's better than never, right?

What do you do to make birthdays special in your classroom? I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Great minds must think alike Hilary! I just did a post about what I do for birthday celebrations last Sunday! Yours looks like more fun! I will be doing some shopping tomorrow! I can't wait!

  2. Hi, Hilary!! I love the sparkly tree on the desk! That is a great idea! I put a Birthday t-shirt on the chair of my Birthday student. I am curious how you handle the summer birthdays. Thanks! Bev

    1. I love the t-shirt idea Bev! I celebrate the summer birthdays the last month of school. I find a day where no one has a birthday, and I put their birthday card on the calendar. That way, everyone has their own day instead of doing them all together at the end of the year. Hope that makes sense!

  3. Hi Hilary, I love the special birthday tree and the bag for their desk. I need to start doing something as special as this for my first graders. Glad I got to read your post because I am going to Dollar Tree today to see if anything is left…
