Warning! Warning!

So, last weekend was a long weekend and I was so excited about having time to update some files, finish some projects, etc. I was sitting on the couch with my laptop in my lap, watching my Dark Shadows DVDs on my new TV and I started having a pain in between my shoulder blades and down my spine. I stretched out and felt like it loosened up, so what did I do? I went back to work! By Monday night, I was in terrible pain. Come to find out, I have a pinched nerve in my neck that is causing pain down both of my arms. The PT said to keep my head up and to not look down. I am also not supposed to move my head side to side much.

Well, I'm sure you know how difficult not looking down is when you work with lots of short people! Every night this week, I have come home, laid down, and fallen asleep. . . with the help from my medicinal partners. They have me taking 3 Aleve morning, noon, and night, which is 3 times the recommended amount on the label!

I am feeling much better today, but you can bet I'm not sitting on the couch with my laptop on my lap! This is all to give you bloggers/teaching resource makers, that you need to take care of yourselves. Don't sit on the couch for hours at a time working. Work for an hour, do some things around the house or walk on the treadmill for a bit, and then go back to work. I know I am going to try my best!

  2. Sorry to hear you were in such pain! I am sitting here typing this on my laptop while sitting on the couch! I guess I should heed your warning and make sure I don't stay on too long. Hope your weekend has been better! Take care!
