Hoppin' Into the 100th Day of School

Can you believe it is almost the 100th day of school already? I sure can't! I was reading more of the amazing posts from the Who's Who Blog and found several neat ideas you might want to use with your 100th Day Celebrations! There's an app that actually makes the kids look old. Ewww! Creepy.

Check out some of the fun activities you can do as a class. Get those kiddos counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s and collaborating to boot!

Get more great ideas for snacks for that special day. I know I like to use a pretzel stick and 2 mini donuts to make the number 100 with my munchkins!

Can you think of 100 reasons why you love your school? These kids sure can!

Happy 100th Day to you and your little cuties!

Close Reading: Oreo Style

Hi guys! I'm not sure if you know this, but I have another blog chocked full of awesome TpT bloggers with awesome ideas to share. The blog is called Who's Who and Who's New. The idea of the blog is to have a great idea every day of the year just for you. I want to share some of the awesomeness from here so you will be sure not to miss it!

Who's Who and Who's New: Close Reading with Oreos: This article helps you explain 'close reading' to your students in a concrete way. I know that many times I read something, then realize I have to read it again because I don't really know what I read. Try this out! The worst thing that could happen is you get to eat an Oreo. Nothing bad about that!

Stay warm!

Great Back to School Tidbits from Who's Who Blog!

In January, I started an awesome blog with some of the newest sellers on Teachers Pay Teachers. Well, let me tell you, these are some amazing educators! As I was reading through the posts, I thought they would be good to share for back to school. So, without further ado . . . Just click the pics to read the rest of the posts. Trust me, you are really going to want to read these! Good stuff!

Elementary teachers all know the craziness that comes with the first day of school. However, if WE slow down and take time to make connections, fantastic things happen. Read this article to see just how to get a calm start to that all-important first day of school. There is even a little freebie to help you out as well.

I don't know about you, but the Dollar Tree and Big Lots are two of the best stores EVER! (and the Target dollar bin isn't too bad either!) Read this post will show you some really neat items you may want to check out this school year!

This post is chocked full of great ideas to make your life easier this school year. I'm sure you have experienced the frustration of getting all your kids on the same page, at the same time, and in a timely manner. I love this idea about taping a ribbon in a book to make a type of bookmark. You definitely need to read the rest of this article because there are 9 more great ideas you need to check out!

If you are still in denial about going back to school, and you respond like this to reminders about only a few more days, you need to see this post! It's a HOOT!

Kickin' Off a New Year, a New Blog, and a TpT Milestone!

Happy New Year's Eve everyone! I know you thought I dropped off the face of the earth, but you can't get rid of me that easily!

I have a couple of exciting things to share with you!

Well, I finally hit the $75,000 milestone at Teachers Pay Teachers! It took me almost exactly 3 years to do it, but I did it! Slow and steady, right? I guess I'm like the turtle that way!

To celebrate, I have made my {New Year's Math Mystery for 2nd and 3rd grade bundle}, FREE until Sunday, January 5, 2014! If you don't already have it, you need to scoop it up! It will be a great way to get back into the swing of things when we go back next week . . . and it's differentiated to boot! If you are already a math mystery fan and have these titles, shoot me an email {hilary35t@gmail.com} and we will see what we can do to thank you for being awesome!

AND . . . Another exciting thing to share with you!

I've run across so many TpT sellers that have FANTASTIC resources! I decided to contact some of these amazing educators about a new collaborative blog. I got a great response! A new blog was born and will kick off tomorrow, January 1, 2014!

And, this is not just any blog . . . This is a blog that will have a new post each and every day of 2014 from over 40 authors! I know, I know . . . you are thinking . . . another blog of products. NO WAY!

We are going all out for you! You will see posts from many different age ranges and points of views. You will see pictures to help you visualize the lessons and how they will work in your homes or classrooms. There will be links to products, freebies, etc. BUT that's not our focus. Basically a one stop shop for all your teaching ideas! I hope to see you there!

Here's to another
GREAT New Year my Friends!
