Giving Thanks and Freebies!

Halloween is over.... so that means Thanksgiving is right around the corner! There is so much to be thankful for this year! I am thankful that students are still able to learn and have fun and for all the wonderful educators who inspire me daily.

Thanks to all of you for following me! Have you signed up for my Newsletter yet?
I am dropping lots of new and discounted items each week that are exclusive to my Newsletter, so make sure you're subscribed.

Let's give Thanks! Are you ready?!
Have your students done my math mysteries yet? If you have been following my blog, website, or TPT I have a Halloween  Mystery and a FREE Fall Mystery, but your students may be ready for the Case of the Tippy Toe Turkeys! Students love these and the best part is that it is DIGITAL and NARRATED! I have these digitally for grades 1-4 below!

Of course, you can still get the paper versions for these math mysteries as well as BOOM Cards.

I love giving my students a little something fun during the holiday months. These mini-notes are perfect to remind students that they are loved and you're thankful for them!
Check out these Thanksgiving Mini-Notes for FREE!

Not my idea, BUT I found this FREE Mini Journal for Kids to do! This would make a fun easy activity for the morning, indoor recess, partner sharing/fun writing time, or a fun writing station. I know sometimes I need something for the SHORT week!

Hope you and your little turkeys give lots of thanks this month! So grateful for all of you!

3 F's . . . or are There More Than 3?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you had a glorious day. We did. I saw a guy on TV who said that Thanksgiving is about the 3 F's . . . Family, Food, and Football. Well, I think he forgot a couple of the F's! What about Friends?! What about Followers who are Friends?! That's what you are to me. I may not know you personally, but you are most definitely Fabulous Friends! Okay, enough Foolishness. (hehehehe)

I want to share a couple of the inference pages that I got from my kids last week. I just can't believe how well they are doing with this difficult skill. The kids are even filling sticky note after sticky note with inferences from books they are reading at Read to Self, Read to Someone, and the Listening Station.
I  LOVE  IT!

Click one of these excellent examples if you would like to see what
your kids can infer!
Are you going out shopping on Black Friday? Not me . . . Well, I do have to pick up one little item for tomorrow. My brother is home for Thanksgiving, so we are celebrating Christmas with a white elephant exchange tomorrow. I really don't want to go to the store tomorrow, but I've been slackin'. I guess it's the turkey!

Wait a minute. There was a reason why I asked if you were going shopping! I wanted to ask if you knew about the big sales that will be going on this weekend!! If you are like me and love to find deals and really don't want to go out and hunt for them, these sales are for you! I will have all of my resources on sale, and TN and TpT are taking off an extra 10%! What?!

Thankful

Sooooo...Today, when I picked my kids up from P.E., I told them that they needed to get their coats on because it was cold outside....and that it was  SNOWING! Well, you would have thought I told them that they got to go shopping at Toys 'R Us and could have anything...and everything that they wanted! They hooped and hollered like crazy! I didn't think I was going to get them on the buses!

As I was herding the last little one toward his bus, he turned around and yelled "Thanks Mrs. Lewis!"

Through all the hustle and bustle you go through in a day of teaching 2nd graders...Times like these make it all worthwhile!

I love having a job where children think I'm pretty and that I'm the best teacher in the world...where kids clap after I read a book to them...and where a thankful child thanks me for the snow!

Smile and enjoy your kids tomorrow...And remind them of the blessings they enjoy because of the sacrifices of brave men and women in our armed forces. I will start by thanking my husband and oldest son...

Thank you Daniel and Jordan!
I love you both so much!
Happy Veteran's Day to all of our veterans!
